Random letters for games and practice.
Use a random letter for word games, categories rounds, spelling practice and starting letters. How to draw letters fairly, with vowels or no repeats.

A random letter starts a lot of games: name an animal, a city and a food beginning with it, before the time runs out. Here is how to draw letters fairly, and a few ways to use them.
Every letter as likely.
Each of the 26 letters has exactly the same chance. That is different from how often letters start words: plenty of words start with S and very few with X, so a fair draw sometimes gives a hard letter. That is part of the game.
Vowels, consonants and no repeats.
Under More options, draw from vowels or consonants only, in small letters, or with no repeats so a round never gives the same letter twice.
Games to try.
Categories: one letter, five categories, a minute each. Story chains: each person adds a sentence starting with the next letter drawn. Spelling: draw five letters and make the longest word you can.
