A little help along the way
Follow these steps. Every option is explained underneath. Everything happens in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.
- Say what you needA number is the usual. Dice, a coin, letters, cards from a shuffled deck and lottery numbers are the others.
- Set the range or the countChoose 1 to 10, 1 to 100 or 1 to 1,000, or your own smallest and largest number, and how many you want.
- Press the buttonPick, Roll, Flip or Draw. Press it again for another.
- Copy or downloadMany numbers can be copied or saved as a text file, one a line.
Every option explained
- No repeats
- On by default: each number comes up at most once, like names drawn from a hat. Turn it off to let numbers repeat.
- Dice notation
- Write dice as games do: 2d6+3, 4d6dl1 (drop the lowest), 2d20kh1 (advantage), 3d6! (a six rolls again), d% or 4dF. The chance of every total is worked out exactly and drawn.
- Coins
- Flip one coin or thousands, with the longest run of heads and tails, or play best of three or five.
- Cards
- Cards are drawn from a deck shuffled once, so the same card never comes twice until you put the cards back.
- Lottery numbers
- Every line is as likely to win as any other, and the page says the real chance. No generator changes it.
- How fair it is
- Numbers come from the browser's cryptographic generator by rejection sampling, so every value in the range is exactly as likely.
