Most people will see your site on a phone first, and phones are not one size: an iPhone SE is 375 pixels wide, a Galaxy S24 360 and an iPhone 17 Pro Max 440. The mobile view tester shows your site on several of them at once, so a button that wraps on the narrowest is plain to see.
Type the address, see the phones.
Open the mobile view tester, type your site's address or localhost and its port, and press Show it on phones. Five phones show it side by side; tick others on the left, from the iPhone 17 Pro Max to a Moto G4, or add a size of your own.
Each phone's frame is the size its browser shows a page, without its bars, so your media queries act as they do on the phone. Turn one on its side, or draw a phone's body round each with Device frames under the layout button.
What it shows, and what it does not.
It shows layouts: widths, heights, orientation and the media queries that follow them. The browser drawing them is yours, so touch, the user agent and the pixel density are this browser's; check those on a real device. A site that refuses to be shown inside another page stays blank.
Nothing goes through KeepSimp.
Your browser loads the site straight from its own address, and KeepSimp has no server in between, so it never sees your site, its address or what is on it.
