A 10 minute timer is one of the lengths people reach for most. Here is what it suits, and how to make the most of one in a browser.
What 10 minute suits.
Ten minutes is long enough for a quick tidy, a short sit in silence, or a timed quiz in class, and short enough that starting is easy.
Pause and carry on.
Pause stops it where it is and Carry on starts it from there; Space does both. Reset puts it back to ten minutes.
If you switch tabs.
The timer keeps the moment it started, so it shows the right time whenever you look, and says if it ended while you were away. Browsers may pause a page in the background, especially on phones, so keep the page open when the sound matters.
