Sounds are made in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere. A running timer is kept only for this tab, so a reload carries on.
A little help along the way
Follow these steps. Every option is explained underneath. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.
- Say what you needCount down is the usual. A stopwatch counts up with laps, the focus timer works in sessions with breaks, and intervals run rounds of work and rest.
- Choose how longPress a common length, such as 5 or 25 minutes, or Your own for hours, minutes and seconds.
- Press StartThe sound is set when you press Start. Pause, carry on, add a minute or reset at any time.
- Hear it endIt rings at the end and says when it finished, even if you looked away.
Every option explained
- Keys
- Space: Start, pause or carry on. L: Take a lap (stopwatch). R: Reset. F: Full screen. +: Add a minute (countdown).
- Exact time
- The timer keeps the moment it started, not a count of ticks, so switching tabs or reloading does not make it lose time. A tab in the background may make the sound late, especially on a phone; keep the page open.
- Focus timer
- 25 minutes of focus, a 5-minute break, and a 15-minute break after four sessions, all changeable under More options. Void a session you had to abandon; it is not counted.
- Intervals
- Set the work, the rest and the rounds, or press Tabata for 20 seconds on and 10 off, eight times. Three pips count you into each change.
- Ring, full screen and floating
- Show a ring that empties for a classroom, fill the screen, or float a small timer over other windows in browsers that offer it.
- Kept
- A running timer is kept for this tab only, so a reload carries on. Focus sessions done each day are kept only while their switch is on.
