Time

What a 5 minute timer is good for.

A five-minute timer for a short break, a stretch or a quick task, with a sound at the end and a minute added at a press. Ready to start in your browser.

A 5 minute timer is one of the lengths people reach for most. Here is what it suits, and how to make the most of one in a browser.

What 5 minute suits.

Five minutes is a short break between tasks, a stretch away from the desk, a plank or two, or tidying one surface. It is also the short break in a focus session.

More time at a press.

Press 1 min to add a minute while it runs, or after it ends to carry on, so five minutes can become six without starting again.

If you switch tabs.

The timer keeps the moment it started, so it shows the right time whenever you look, and says if it ended while you were away. Browsers may pause a page in the background, especially on phones, so keep the page open when the sound matters.
