How many days are left until Christmas? Here is how the count is made, and what the date is each year.
When Christmas falls.
Christmas Day is 25 December every year in the Western calendar. The Orthodox churches that keep the Julian calendar celebrate on 7 January, which you can type as a date. The count is in whole days, with hours, minutes and seconds to midnight at its start on your device's clock.
Days or sleeps.
On Christmas Eve the count says 1 day to go, which is also one sleep: the count of days to a date counts the nights between, so the number of sleeps is the same as the number of days.
Keep it in your calendar.
Add to calendar makes a small calendar file for the day, which any calendar app opens; it is made on your device and nothing is sent. Copy a link carries the date in the address after #, so the countdown opens for whoever you send it to.
