How much to tip, and on what.
The tip as a per cent of the bill before or after tax, and the difference it makes, with the total split between any number of people.

A tip is a per cent of the bill, but of which bill? Here is the difference.
Before tax or after.
Etiquette guides advise tipping on the bill before tax, though many people tip on the total. On a $100 bill with $8 of tax, 20% is $20.00 before tax and $21.60 after; the page tips before tax unless you choose otherwise, and says the other figure.
Common tips.
10, 15, 18, 20 and 25% are one press away; type your own for anything else. Customs differ by country, and the page assumes none.
Rounding up.
Rounding each share up to a whole amount turns the extra into a bigger tip, and the page says by how much.
