An .excalidraw file is a board saved by Excalidraw or by the KeepSimp whiteboard. This page opens one in your browser to look at, change and save again in the same format.
Open the file.
Press Open a file and choose an .excalidraw file, or drop it on the page. A PNG or SVG saved with its board inside opens as the board, not just the picture. Pictures in the board come with it; anything the whiteboard cannot show, such as an embedded web page, is left out and said.
Library files (.excalidrawlib) open into the whiteboard's library, ready to put on any board.
Saved in the same format.
Save the board file and you get an .excalidraw file again, with the same names for every field, so it opens in Excalidraw as it does here. Words are shown in the nearest of the whiteboard's fonts.
Save it, share it, present it.
Save the board as a PNG or an SVG to put in a document, or as a PDF to print; a PNG or SVG can carry the board inside it, to open and change again. Put a frame round it and Present shows it full screen. Share as a link carries the board locked in the link itself, after the #, which is never sent to any server; anyone who has the link can open it.
On your device, and nowhere else.
Everything is drawn and saved in your browser: nothing is uploaded and there is no account. Turn on Keep this board on this device to find it again when you come back, or save the board as a .excalidraw file to open again here or in Excalidraw.
