How fast can you press Space?

Count how many times you press the spacebar in 1 to 60 seconds, in your browser. Held keys never count; only real presses do. Free, with no adverts.

A reaction time test: a box that has just turned teal with the word Now, and the result beside it, 241 ms, with each try listed

The spacebar counter counts how many times you press Space before the time runs out. Simple, and surprisingly hard to stop.

Press Space to start.

The clock starts with your first press: 10 seconds unless you choose 1, 5, 30 or 60. Every press counts. Holding Space down does not: a held key sends repeats, which are never counted.

Your result.

The result gives your presses, presses a second, your best second and the shortest gap between presses.

More to try.

Try clicks per second with the mouse, your reaction time, or how fast you really type.
