What a 1 hour timer is good for.
A one-hour timer for a study block, a practice exam paper or something in the oven, keeping exact time in the background. Ready to start, nothing sent.

A 1 hour timer is one of the lengths people reach for most. Here is what it suits, and how to make the most of one in a browser.
What 1 hour suits.
An hour is a study block, a practice exam paper, or a cake in the oven: long enough that you will look away, which is when an exact timer matters.
Floating over your work.
In browsers that offer it, such as Chrome on a computer, Float the timer opens a small window that stays on top of other windows while you work.
If you switch tabs.
The timer keeps the moment it started, so it shows the right time whenever you look, and says if it ended while you were away. Browsers may pause a page in the background, especially on phones, so keep the page open when the sound matters.
