Questions people ask
- What is a sweep for?
- Hearing where speakers rattle, where a room booms, or where headphones fade, by gliding through every frequency.
- By octaves or in a straight line?
- By octaves, the usual way, gives each octave the same time, as we hear pitch; a straight line spends most of its time in the high notes.
- Is it exact?
- The sweep is set on the audio clock, so it glides exactly; the page only follows it to show the frequency.
This page is the Tone generator, opened for this one job; every other tool it has is one press away. Each of its settings is explained on the Tone generator's own page.
