Time

CST to EST: one hour, all year.

US Central Time is one hour behind Eastern Time all year, since both change their clocks on the same days. Convert a CST time to EST, with the day.

Converting CST to EST is a sum of hours, until the clocks change. Here is the gap, and when it moves.

The gap.

US Central Time (Chicago, Dallas) is one hour behind Eastern Time (New York, Atlanta): 9:00 am CST is 10:00 am EST. In summer they are CDT and EDT, still one hour apart. CST is also China Standard Time; the page takes CST as US Central Time and says so.

When the clocks change.

Both zones change their clocks at 2:00 am local time on the second Sunday of March and the first Sunday of November, so the gap stays an hour; on those nights only, for an hour, it can differ.

Type it and see.

Type a time with both names, such as 9am CST to EST, and the answer says the time and the day there, with what each abbreviation was taken to mean. Add more places after a comma, and add tomorrow or a date to look ahead past a change of clocks.
