UTC to EST: five hours in winter, four in summer.
New York is five hours behind UTC in winter and four in summer. Convert a UTC time to Eastern Time with the day, and see when the gap changes.

Converting UTC to EST is a sum of hours, until the clocks change. Here is the gap, and when it moves.
The gap.
UTC never changes its clocks. New York is UTC−5 in winter (EST) and UTC−4 in summer (EDT), so 14:00 UTC is 9:00 am in winter and 10:00 am in summer. The page gives New York's time for the day you ask about.
When the clocks change.
Eastern Time moves forward on the second Sunday of March and back on the first Sunday of November. Add a date to the conversion, such as 14:00 UTC to EST 2027-07-01, to see the summer gap.
Type it and see.
Type a time with both names, such as 9am UTC to EST, and the answer says the time and the day there, with what each abbreviation was taken to mean. Add more places after a comma, and add tomorrow or a date to look ahead past a change of clocks.
