How many days are left until Diwali? Here is how the count is made, and what the date is each year.
When Diwali falls.
Diwali falls on the new moon of the Hindu month of Kartika, usually in October or November, so its date in the Western calendar moves from year to year. The page takes it from python-holidays' list of India's holidays, for 2020 to 2035. Celebrations run over several days; the date given is the main day on that list.
Other festivals.
Type Holi, Eid, Chinese New Year or Hanukkah in the same box for theirs. Dates that wait on the moon being sighted, such as Eid's, are marked as estimates and can move by a day.
Keep it in your calendar.
