A little know-how

Make it once, use it again.

Start a reel from a template (Photo dump, Product showcase, Before and after, Top five) with your own clips and photos, or save your reel as a template to use again. In your browser.

Three reel templates with grey places for files, and one filled with clips and a photo

A template is a reel's look and timing with places for your own files: the words, their looks and motions, the transitions, how long each part shows, how the music is mixed. Give it your clips and photos and the reel is made; nothing in a template is ever a file of yours.

Five to start from.

Photo dump puts six pictures or clips to music, quickly. Product showcase has a title, three shots, a price tag and a call to action. Before and after wipes from one shot to the other. Top five counts down with a number on each. Talking to camera is one clip with a title on top, ready for captions.

In the editor, open Templates on the left and choose one. Choose your videos and pictures, and music where it has a place for it; they go in its places in the order you choose them. A place left without a file stays grey until you fill it in its clip's settings, and Undo brings back the reel you had.

Your own, as a file.

Save this reel as a template writes a small file that ends in .keepsimp-reel.json. It keeps the shape, the texts and their looks, motions, graphics, cards, transitions, how the sound is mixed, the captions' look and the export's settings, with a place for each file. It never holds your files, and the words heard for captions are left out.

Open a template file to use it again, on this device or another. Everything in it is checked as it is read: anything it names that is not there, or that is not what it should be, is left out and you are told how much.

For agents too.

An AI agent working through the KeepSimp bridge can make a reel from the same templates, or a template file you give it, with its make_reel tool: the files go in the places in order, and the reel is checked before it is handed over.
