PNG to ICO

Make a favicon ICO file with every size inside from one picture, on your device. Free, with no account or uploads.

A square picture works best. One ICO file holds the 16, 32 and 48 px icons browsers use, and larger ones if you tick them.

Drop a picture to make a favicon

Add one picture or up to 50 at once. Photos from any camera or phone work, iPhone photos too, and so do screenshots, logos and icons. You can also paste one.

Stays on your device. Free, no account.

  1. Add your imagesDrop up to 50 pictures, choose them, paste with ⌘V or Ctrl+V, or try the samples. Photos from any camera or phone work, iPhone photos too, and so do screenshots, logos and icons.
  2. Say what you needSmaller file saves WebP, Opens everywhere saves JPG, Sharp edges saves PNG and A document saves a PDF. Make big photos smaller shrinks them for an upload or an email. Every other format (AVIF, JPEG XL, GIF, BMP, TIFF, ICO) is under More options.
  3. See which format is smallestUnder More options, Compare formats encodes the selected image as JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF and JPEG XL and lists the real sizes, smallest first.
  4. Several formats at onceTick more than one format to save every image in each of them, with picture HTML that lets browsers pick the best one.
  5. Favicons and PDFsICO packs several icon sizes into one file. PDF makes a page per image, or one document with every image.
  6. Set the options and downloadChoose a quality, a background for transparency and file names under More options, then press the large download button for one file or everything as a ZIP.

Questions people ask

Which sizes go into the ICO file?
16, 32 and 48 pixels to start, the sizes browsers use for a favicon. You can tick 24, 64, 128 and 256 too; every size goes into the one file.
What if my picture is not square?
It is centred on a clear square, so nothing is cut off. To crop it to a square first, use the image resizer.
Are see-through parts kept?
Yes. Each size is stored inside the ICO as a PNG, so clear parts stay clear.
