How it works and help

A little help along the way

Say what you want to do (pick a color, make a palette, check that text is readable or get colors from a photo) and open the color studio on a page of its own; gradients, brand colors and many colors at once are under More options. In the studio the workflows are on the left, your work in the middle and the current color, with its picker, on the right (in Convert on a phone). Convert a color, grow a palette, check contrast or create a gradient, dragging its stops along the track. From image reads a local picture; Brand colors has sourced company swatches. The guides explain gamut, transparency and what each export keeps.

Questions people ask

How do I turn a HEX code into RGB?
Type or paste the HEX code, such as #ff6600, into Color value. RGB 0–255 then says rgb(255 102 0), and every other format is listed beside it with a Copy button.
Why are there two RGB lines?
RGB is written the way the colour library writes CSS, with percentages; RGB 0–255 gives the same colour in whole numbers from 0 to 255, as most apps and design tools ask for it.
Does it work the other way, from RGB to HEX?
Yes. Type rgb(255 102 0), an HSL or OKLCH value or a CSS colour name, and the HEX code is shown with the rest. Eight-digit HEX keeps the opacity.
