How it works and help

What you can do

  • As many pictures as you likeUp to 300 in one PDF: JPEG, HEIC from an iPhone, PNG, WebP and more, each upright as it was taken.
  • Pages in the order you wantDrag them, turn them, copy or take them out, or sort them by name or date. Every change can be undone.
  • A4, Letter or the picture's own shapeWith or without a margin, and a JPEG can go in exactly as it came, with nothing lost.
  • Nothing is uploadedPictures are read and the PDF is written in your browser, and it works offline.

Scan with the camera to photograph pages one after another: each is found, straightened and made to look scanned as it is taken.

A little help along the way

Follow these steps. Every option is explained underneath, and nothing you add leaves your device.

  1. Add your picturesDrop up to 300 pictures, choose them, paste one with ⌘V or Ctrl+V, or try the sample. JPEG, HEIC from an iPhone, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, TIFF, BMP and JPEG XL all work. The maker opens in its own window.
  2. Put the pages in orderThe pages are on the right. Drag one to move it, or its grip on a touch screen. Click a page to look at it large; ⌘ or Ctrl chooses several and Shift a run, to move, turn, copy or take out together. Put in order sorts them by name or by date.
  3. Or scan with the cameraPress Scan with the camera, point the phone at a page and press the shutter, or leave Auto on and hold still. Each photo becomes a page at once, straightened and cleaned. The browser asks once to use the camera; nothing is installed or uploaded.
  4. Straighten photos of paperWhen a photo holds a sheet of paper, the maker finds its edges and offers to straighten it: the page is cut out, made flat and given its true shape. Press Crop and straighten to move the corners yourself, with a magnifier as you drag or the arrow keys.
  5. Make it look scannedChoose a look for the page: Auto makes the paper white and takes shadows out, Greyscale does the same without colour, and Black and white keeps only the ink, for the smallest file. Give every page the same look with one press.
  6. Turn what lies on its sidePhotos are shown upright as the camera recorded them. Turn any page left or right with the buttons under it or the R key.
  7. Say what your pictures areUnder PDF, choose Documents (the usual: sharp and a smaller file) or Photos (each kept as it came, on a page of its own shape), then the page size: Fit the photo, A4, Letter or Legal. If an email or a form has a limit, turn on “Must be under a size?”. Which way up, the margin and the exact quality are under More options.
  8. Make the PDFPress Make PDF. The file is opened again and checked against the pages you saw before it is offered. Download it, read it in the window, or open it in the PDF editor to sign it, add page numbers or make its words searchable.

Questions people ask

Are my JPG photos made worse in the PDF?
Not at Best quality: each JPEG goes in as it came, its picture data byte for byte. Balanced and Smallest make a photo that is far larger than the page needs smaller, to keep the file light, and each page says how its photo is kept.
Can I change the order of the photos?
Yes. Drag the pages on the right, or choose several and move them with the buttons or Shift and the arrow keys. Put in order sorts them by name, counting as a person does, or by date.
Does the PDF keep where the photos were taken?
No. The camera's details, such as the place, the date and the camera, are taken out of each JPEG before it goes into the PDF; only which way up it goes and its colours are kept.
What page size is the PDF?
A4 or Letter, whichever is used where you are, or Legal, or each page the shape of its photo. Choose a margin, and whether every sheet is upright, sideways or turned to suit its photo.

This page is the PDF maker, opened for this one job; every other tool it has is one press away. Each of its settings is explained on the PDF maker's own page.
