Random team generator
Split a list of names into random teams or groups of the size you choose, balanced by skill when you give one. Free, with no account or uploads.
Make random teams
Choose how many teams. Put a number after a name to balance by skill; the strongest are dealt first in a snake.
To balance teams, put a number after a name for how strong they are (“Ana 7”). The strongest are dealt first, in a snake, so the totals come out close.
A little help along the way

Questions people ask
- Are the teams the same size?
- Teams never differ by more than one person. With 11 people in 3 teams, two teams have 4 and one has 3.
- Can I balance teams by skill?
- Yes. Put a number after a name (“Ana 7”). The strongest are dealt first in a snake, one to each team and back again, so the team totals come out close. Equal skills are put in a random order.
- Can I choose the size of each group instead?
- Yes: under More options, make teams by people in each and choose the number. The page works out how many teams that makes.
This page is the Spin the wheel, opened for this one job; every other tool it has is one press away. Each of its settings is explained on the Spin the wheel's own page.
