How it works and help
Every pick is drawn by your browser’s cryptographic generator before the wheel moves. Nothing you type is sent anywhere.

A little help along the way

Follow these steps. Every option is explained underneath. Everything happens in your browser; nothing you type is sent anywhere.

  1. Type or paste your listOne entry a line: names, places to eat, chores. Shuffle, sort or clear it with the buttons under it.
  2. Say what you are doingPick one is the usual. Take turns takes each pick off the wheel, for an order with no repeats. Make teams shares everyone out. Secret Santa has everyone draw someone to give to.
  3. SpinPress Spin, the wheel itself, or Ctrl or ⌘ and Enter in the list. The pick is drawn first; the wheel only shows it.
  4. Read the resultThe pick is said in large letters. Take it off the wheel, spin again, or copy a link that carries the list.

Questions people ask

Do I need to give everyone's email?
No. Nothing is sent anywhere. Either pass the phone round so each person sees only their own match, or copy a link for each person and send it yourself.
Can I keep couples from drawing each other?
Yes. Under More options, write “Ava and Noah” on a line to keep a couple apart both ways, or “Priya > Omar” to stop just Priya drawing Omar. Nobody ever draws themselves.
Can the organiser see who has whom?
With pass the phone, only the person whose name is tapped sees their match. With links, the match is in the link, so whoever made the links could open them; the page says so.
What if the rules leave no possible draw?
The page says so and asks you to take a rule away. When the rules leave very few draws, it finds one by searching and says that not every allowed draw was as likely.

This page is the Spin the wheel, opened for this one job; every other tool it has is one press away. Each of its settings is explained on the Spin the wheel's own page.
