A little help along the way

Say what you want to do: make it readable (Edit, to format or repair), look through it (Explore), turn it into CSV or YAML (Convert) or compare two (Compare). The page says at once whether your JSON is valid. Under More options every workflow has its tab, with Query to select data and Schema to check a contract. Results stay separate until you choose Use result as source.

Questions people ask

Can it convert YAML back to JSON?
Yes. Choose YAML → JSON under Conversion. It reads mappings, lists and plain values; aliases, merge keys and custom tags must be expanded first, and it says so rather than guess.
Are big numbers and decimals kept?
Yes. Numbers are written exactly as they were in the JSON, so 9007199254740993 and 19.90 stay as they are instead of being rounded or trimmed.
Why are the strings in quotes in the YAML?
So that YAML cannot read them as something else: unquoted, a word like no or a value like 1.10 could become a true-or-false or a number. Quoting keeps the types the JSON had.
