Questions people ask

Is a gigabyte 1,000 or 1,024 megabytes?
Both are in use. Drive makers count 1,000 MB to a GB; Windows counts 1,024 and still calls them MB and GB. The answer is given both ways, each named.
Why does my new drive show less space than it says?
A 1 TB drive holds 1,000,000,000,000 bytes, which Windows counts as about 931 GB because it divides by 1,024 three times.
Can it make my file smaller?
No, it only converts the numbers. To make a picture smaller, use Compress image to KB.
