Questions people ask
- Why are screenshots enlarged?
- Screen letters are small, and Tesseract reads letters about 30 pixels tall best, so a screenshot is enlarged up to three times before it is read.
- Does it keep the screenshot?
- No. Nothing is uploaded or kept; the page forgets it when you leave.
- Can it read text in dark mode?
- Usually, yes: Tesseract reads light words on a dark background too, though clear dark-on-light text reads best.
This page is the Image to text, opened for this one job; every other tool it has is one press away. Each of its settings is explained on the Image to text's own page.
