Follow these steps. Every option is explained underneath. Everything happens in your browser; nothing in the archive is sent anywhere.

  1. Open the archiveDrop it on the page or press Choose a file. For a ZIP cut into parts (.z01, .z02 … .zip, or .001, .002 …), choose every part at once. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no size limit but your device's.

Questions people ask

What is the difference between tar.xz, tar.bz2 and tar.zst?
Each is a tar, files one after another, packed smaller by a different compressor: xz, bzip2 or Zstandard. They open the same way here, and so does a tar.gz.
Does it open a single .xz, .bz2, .zst or .br file?
Yes. Each holds one file, which is unpacked on your device and saved. When the file inside is a tar, its files and folders are listed instead.
Why does taking out one file take as long as all of them?
A packed tar has no index: the whole tar is one stream, so reaching a file means unpacking everything before it.
Are permissions, dates and links kept?
No. A browser cannot set a file's permissions or owner, so files get today's date, and links inside the archive are listed and never made. Folder writing works in Chrome and Edge only.
Can it make a tar.xz?
No. It makes tar.gz, tar and .gz files, which every Linux and Mac opens, and ZIPs. It opens tar.xz, tar.bz2 and tar.zst.
