Keeps exact time when you switch tabs, and says if it ended while you were away. Keep this page open for the sound, especially on a phone, where browsers may pause a page in the background.

How it works and help
Sounds are made in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere. A running timer is kept only for this tab, so a reload carries on.

Questions people ask

What is the difference between a lap and a split?
A lap is the time since the last press; the total, often called a split, is the time since the start. The stopwatch shows both for every lap.
How precise is it?
It shows hundredths of a second, worked out from the moments you pressed. Your own reaction, about a fifth of a second, matters far more than the clock.
Can I save my laps?
Press Copy over the laps for a table you can paste into a spreadsheet: the lap, its time and the total.

This page is the Timer, opened for this one job; every other tool it has is one press away. Each of its settings is explained on the Timer's own page.
