Every option explained
Header or footer
A line of your own on every page. In it, {page} is the page's number, {pages} how many pages there are, {date} today's date and {name} the file's name.
Bates numbers
A number that runs on from page to page, written with a fixed count of figures, with words before and after it: ACME-000120, ACME-000121. Set the first number to go on where another file stopped.
Pages
The pages are numbered in the order you type them. A header on pages 2- counts page 2 as its first.
Each number is a thing of its own
A number is a piece of text on its page. With the select tool it can be moved, restyled, retyped or deleted like any text you add.
Order first
Numbers are written as the pages lie when you press Add. Move, add or take out pages first (the Pages button), then number them.
